Divine defense - Twelve

Reading 1SIR 27:4-7

When a sieve is shaken, the husks appear;
so do one's faults when one speaks.
As the test of what the potter molds is in the furnace,
so in tribulation is the test of the just.
The fruit of a tree shows the care it has had;
so too does one's speech disclose the bent of one's mind.
Praise no one before he speaks,
for it is then that people are tested.

GospelLK 6:39-45

Jesus told his disciples a parable,
"Can a blind person guide a blind person?
Will not both fall into a pit?
No disciple is superior to the teacher;
but when fully trained,
every disciple will be like his teacher.
Why do you notice the splinter in your brother's eye,
but do not perceive the wooden beam in your own?

How can you say to your brother,
'Brother, let me remove that splinter in your eye,'
when you do not even notice the wooden beam in your own eye?
You hypocrite!  Remove the wooden beam from your eye first;
then you will see clearly
to remove the splinter in your brother's eye.

"A good tree does not bear rotten fruit,
nor does a rotten tree bear good fruit.
For every tree is known by its own fruit.
For people do not pick figs from thornbushes,
nor do they gather grapes from brambles.
A good person out of the store of goodness in his heart produces good,
but an evil person out of a store of evil produces evil;
for from the fullness of the heart the mouth speaks."

Prayer: Divine protection for Davao City and the city mayor

Father God, forgive me for all my failings. Thank You for Your mercy and love. Let me say my request for now: I beg of You to show us in the Archdiocese of Davao the means to thwart the dream I had early this dawn from coming to pass. I pray for divine protection for the city of Davao and the mayor of the same city from all the plans and attacks by the ISIS and other dark forces. Clothe our soldiers with your protection, wisdom and strength to subdue the enemies. Prevent a Marawi-like war to happen in Davao City. This, I humbly ask, in the Name of Your dearly Beloved Son, Jesus Christ. Thank You, Father God, for an affirmative answer to this prayer and the divine protection You bestow on us here in my hometown. Amen.

A vision of smoke

I entered the Cathedral earlier tonight after the Mass. While I was seated in the pew, I noticed a fog or a smoke thinly blended in the atmosphere inside the Cathedral. I asked someone who sat a short distance from me if she saw the same thing. She said, she saw nothing of the kind.

Divine confirmation - Thirty-seven

Gospel Lk 14:1, 7-11

On a sabbath Jesus went to dine
at the home of one of the leading Pharisees,
and the people there were observing him carefully.

He told a parable to those who had been invited,
noticing how they were choosing the places of honor at the table.
"When you are invited by someone to a wedding banquet,
do not recline at table in the place of honor.
A more distinguished guest than you may have been invited by him,
and the host who invited both of you may approach you and say,
'Give your place to this man,'
and then you would proceed with embarrassment
to take the lowest place.
Rather, when you are invited,
go and take the lowest place
so that when the host comes to you he may say,
'My friend, move up to a higher position.'
Then you will enjoy the esteem of your companions at the table.
For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled,
but the one who humbles himself will be exalted."

'Worship me!' - PDU30

"Bulgar," November 3, 2018 issue, page 2

In his ascent to a temporary platform, President Rodrigo Duterte was seen in a dream holding a slender statue of a Holy Child Jesus by his left hand whereby he was able to mount the "Duterte fist" in such an act which can be deemed a sacrilege. Does his pronouncement in the news signal his imminent descent from the platform due to loss of physical strength or even breath?

Dream: The white-painted interior of the church and the so-called 'papal' portrait

I dreamed just before I was to wake up this early dawn and this is my dream: I found myself inside a particular church which was undergoing renovation. The whole interior was already painted white and the chairs or pews were nowhere in sight. Understandably because the church interior was undergoing re-painting. Inside the said church, I saw two doors, one on the left and one on the right. I saw a number of Caucasian-looking individuals, some men and some women inside the left door and they were like talking to one person. On the right door, I saw a man, a short man, and I knew he was a priest (although not clad in a priestly habit) looking stealthily from the slight opening of the door and looking at me. I went to ask some men-workers delegated to do the interior face-lift about some details of the renovation but the priest inside the right door took my conversation with them as giving some direction to his workers in which act belongs only to him. In a certain wall was hung a portrait of a pope and the photograph showed him wearing a white habit as should be worn by a pope; but I noticed, contrary to papal zucchetto (skullcap) that must be white, his was in pink. Or was it in light red? His face was unrecognizable as he was photographed with his head a bit bowed and the color of his zucchetto showed in the process. Thereby, the one in the picture is not a pope -- but a cardinal under the vestments of a pope.
